Dear Dr Achara,

In February I was about to start my holiday in Thailand with my new partner. But the day before leaving England a tooth on my dental plate fell off. The fact that I had false teeth somehow had not been spoken about with my partner. Trying to keep this a secret I rushed to a local dental repair practice who were able only to stick back the broken tooth and told me the repair might only last for a few weeks.

I knew my teeth were in a bad state and that I had had my front teeth removed at the age of 20, and the ones that remained were falling to pieces, this led me to not smiling or wanting to laugh out loud.

Whilst drinking a Singha beer in a bar in Bangkok my false teeth fell into my beer glass but I was able to distract my girlfriends attention by pointing to a non existent elephant. This gave me time to scoop my teeth out of the glass and back into my mouth. I then realised that at some point my dental problems could no longer stay secret.

Our holiday included a two week stay in Phuket and it was here that along with a pack of information on scuba diving and elephant rides was an advert about Promjai Dental Clinic. My girlfriend suggested I should ring them which I did only to have a receptionist talk to me in perfect English. I made an appointment for the next day.

After a full x ray of my mouth I sat with Dr Achara and my girlfriend to be given the news, both dental and financial. I had three options (1) to have some new false teeth made, (2) To have a bridge so as to hold my 3 front teeth or (3) 8 implants. Dr Achara recommended the implants due to the poor condition of my remaining teeth.

My girlfriend, who is now my wife, said "would I be happy to drink soup for the rest of my life or would I prefer to eat steak."

Next morning Promjai sent me to Phuket hospital to make sure I was fit for my operation and the next day they arraigned flights and hotel accommodation a short walk away from the Bangkok clinic. At 08.00 Dr Achara was waiting for me and kept me calm. A few hours later I was walking out of the clinic and back to our hotel after having 8 implants fitted in what I thought was 2 seconds. This operation can now performed in Phuket.

To cut a long story short I now have 8 new teeth 2 root canals one veneer a couple of extractions all of my old metal fillings replaced with white ones, a gum infection that I had had for years cured teeth whitening and a few new fillings. And I can honestly say apart from a swollen face for a few days after the implants I have had no pain in all of the treatment I have received from Promjai Dental Clinic.

I have such a good smile and am filled with confidence now that my whole appearance has changed.I do get a thrill when I tell people I am off see my dentist in Bangkok.

Following my implants in February 2006 I have revisited Promjai each year when on holiday for a check up either at Phuket or Bangkok. I have no hesitation in highly recommending the professional service provided consistently by the clinic and all its staff.

Thailand is known as the land of smiles, I would like to thank all of those at the Promjai Clinic for returning my smile.

Whilst staying at the Patong Merlin Hotel Resort, I visited the Promjai Dental Clinic which was in the same complex, to discuss the possibility of implants for all of my back teeth which I had removed many years ago. We met Dr Achara, who examined me and then showed me on models of the implant process and the final outcome of implanted teeth.         I couldn't find a suitable clinic in Europe and a friend suggested Thailand . I did a web search and Promjai was the first clinic's webpage that impressed me, it looked very clean and professional. I decided to visit them while I was on a vacation break from my work in the Middle East and was even more impressed, the staff were extremely friendly and very professional. All too often these days, advertising doesn't live up to reality, this was definately not the case with Promjai.

        I had full implants done, both top and bottom teeth and although, in my case, the healing process took quite a long time and while I was back at work in the Middle East , I had absolutely no problems whatsoever.         Early in 2008 while holidaying in Phuket, and staying at the Merlin Hotel Resort at Patong Beach , I walked into the Promjai Dental Clinic, without knowing anything about it.

        It looked modern, clean and inviting, and I had been experiencing discomfort with my lower denture. My upper denture required glue to stay in place, and being a teacher I needed my teeth to feel secure while talking in front of the class.

        Without any appointment, I was welcomed politely and interviewed about my requirements.

        Next I was given an examination of my teeth, with x- rays following.As the work I needed involved surgery, it was decided that it should be performed in Bangkok , where there is another larger Promjai clinic and access to the services of a medical surgeon.

        A few days later I had a sinus lift, 4 implants inserted, along with 4 mini implants.

        My upper denture was cut back, so that for the first time in over 30 years, I could feel the roof of my mouth whenever I wanted to.

It was necessary for me to come back to the clinic a few months later, after the larger, permanent implants had fused to the bones in my jaw.

        Then, the mini implants were removed, my new denture introduced, which clips to the implants and is comfortable, but more importantly, very secure and strong.

        In Queensland , Australia , where I live, the same work, as quoted to me before travelling to Thailand , would have cost triple the amount that I paid in Thailand .

        My husband and I combined my dental work with holidays. Even considering airfares, we saved much money.

        Dr. Achara and her staff are all very professional, but caring, warm and friendly.

        They made me feel very safe in their clean, modern clinics, and confident in their treatment at all times.

        Communication was never a problem, as the staff seem to speak several languages, including English.
